Continuing our support of Manorlands Hospice at this crucial time

Posted 03/07/2020

In light of the recent easing of lockdown, we send local businesses, pubs and shops our best wishes as they reopen their doors. The world is looking different - a proliferation of hand-sanitizer and face masks, to keep us all safe.

We are hoping to produce a newsletter online for August, however we are monitoring the situation in light of the views of our contributors.

COVID-19 Update

Posted 02/04/2020

Just posted our April issue online, which is great if you're looking for information about what is happening in the community. We are lucky to see many of our local businesses doing their best to supply food and morale, we appreciate every single one of you. Plus, each Thursday we will be joining in the 'clap for our carers' to thank those who are working on the front line against this virus.

COVID-19 Update

Posted 09/01/2020

Welcome to a new decade! We have all the wonderful past copies of the newsletter - in what has been an eventful decade for the village. We are pleased that the decade has seen lots of new faces in the village, new events and new local businesses. Despite this, we remember fondly those we have lost and mark the new decade by thanking you all for your support. We are proud to have covered many of the exciting events - from the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, to the opening of some of our local businesses. We have also launched the Festive Greetings section for which we have raised annually a sum to donate to local charities. We couldn't do this without your support!

Once again we fundraised in December 2019 for local charities. After collecting the proceeds, we decided to donate the entirety of the proceeds to a single charity - Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice - in light of the emerging crisis of fundraising they have experienced largely as a result of the ongoing pandemic. We were delighted to receive this response from Manorlands.

In light of the continuing fundraising crisis at Manorlands, we would like to encourage all readers to consider donating to their appeal. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant fundraising gap for the charity, meaning that calls for funds are even more important at this difficult time.
